Hungerford Repair Café

Hungerford Repair Café will open its doors for the second time on Sunday 19th September 2021 (10am-12.30pm) at the Town Hall and Corn Exchange. Please spread the word and start gathering your items which could be fixed!

If you do have repair skills, and would be interested in volunteering (or indeed hosting the event), please do get in touch, we would be very happy to hear from you ->

Hungerford Repair Café is the combined efforts of HEAT, Rotary Club of Hungerford and the West Berks Repair Café.

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But if it is, bring it to the Hungerford Repair Café!”

The following notes were taken from a webinar by CAG Oxfordshire on how to set up a community repair group

Notes on Setting up a Repair Café

Repair Cafés allow you to bring items which are broken, to have them looked at by someone who knows how to fix them, and to have the item fixed if it is possible.

Items to bring include electronic appliances, machinery, textiles, and woodwork.

Repair Cafés help to reduce waste, to encourage the sharing of skills, and to bring a community together.

In order to set this up we would need a team of volunteers who would be willing to lend their skills fixing things!

If you are interested then please get in touch by emailing HEAT, and if you know someone who would be interested, please send them our details!
