HEAT volunteers test out the E-bikes at the Hungerford EV Show in July 2021

The results of HEAT’s Cycle Survey will be fed back to Hungerford Town Council and West Berkshire town Council who have access to UK Government funding to promote Active Travel. Places like Thatcham have already benefitted from this funding.
The aim is to make Hungerford more cycle friendly.

Cycling is a great way to get around, to keep fit, and to protect the environment. There has been a big uptake over the pas year and this got us thinking… How cycle friendly is Hungerford?

What is good about cycling in Hungerford, and what can be improved?

Would you be happy to take your children out cycling on the roads in and around Hungerford?

Whether you are an experienced cyclist, a beginner, or someone who would like to cycle but is uncomfortable on the roads amongst traffic, we’d like to hear from you.

Would you like to see more cycle lanes, traffic calming measures, and bicycle parking in Hungerford?

Please fill in the Cycle Survey (when it appears on this page in January 2021) and email your thoughts, ideas and opinions to

We aim to make Hungerford a place where cycling is easy and encouraged, rather than an inconvenience, and will be taking action in the coming months to bring about positive change.
